鼓型齒式聯軸器是一種特別設計的先進齒式聯軸器，其外齒制成球面，球面的中心在齒輪的軸線上，齒側的間隙比一般產品稍大，鼓形齒聯軸器可以傳遞較大的扭矩和允許較大的角位移，性能優(yōu)異且壽命更加長久。

對輪聯軸器慣性主軸線與旋轉軸線之間重心位置偏心量的可能值是平方和方根值而決定的，主要由兩半聯軸器和聯接螺栓組成，對輪聯軸器軸套孔裝配前，鏜削切割和鍵槽的修整聯軸器端面和其它表面的加工等。半聯軸器的軸套孔有圓錐孔和圓柱孔兩種形式，圓錐孔比圓柱孔在工藝特性上有較多的特點，圓錐形軸套孔容易獲得相配合部件之間的同心。

對輪聯軸器在工作過程中，并且會帶來燃油消耗空氣污染等后果，由于承受咬入沖擊動載荷，使得聯軸器受到峰值轉矩，聯軸器承載能力下降，并在短時間內失效，從而直接影響其正常工作，其中的較薄弱環(huán)節(jié)進行替換或維修是重要和實用的。聯軸器兩軸相對半徑變位要求較好，找耦合同心度為0.2~0.6mm，存在很大困難。如果在駕駛過程中螺栓松動，泵裝置的振動和噪音可能會變大。
